Kristen Demoruelle, MD

Rheumatologic diseases can have a significant impact on a person’s health, daily function, and overall quality of life. Dr. Demoruelle is dedicated to helping patients manage these complex conditions so they can feel better and continue doing the things that matter most to them.

She is particularly passionate about women’s health in rheumatology, helping patients navigate pregnancy planning, disease management during and after pregnancy, contraception, and menopause-related decisions. She also has expertise in rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune–associated lung disease.

Dr. Demoruelle previously served as an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, where she cared for patients and led clinical research focused on rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune-associated lung disease, and women’s health. After more than a decade in academic medicine, she is excited to bring her experience to the Denver Arthritis Clinic and focus on patient-centered care.

She approaches patient care as a partnership, taking a thoughtful and individualized approach that includes careful listening, thorough evaluation, and evidence-based treatment. She works collaboratively with patients to develop plans that align with their goals and fit their lives, and she values building long-term relationships. She finds it especially meaningful to help patients navigate complex diagnoses and find a clear path forward.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, and taking advantage of everything Colorado has to offer, especially skiing, hiking, and biking.
