Denver Arthritis Clinic is excited to welcome Dr. Prateek Chaudhary, DO, to our team this July. Dr. Chaudhary has been practicing rheumatology in the Denver metro area since 2013, and he brings a patient-centered, holistic approach to care along with a strong focus on long-term relationships.
We asked him a few questions so you can get to know him before your first visit.
What drew you to rheumatology as a specialty?
I've always been drawn to caring for patients with chronic conditions because it allows for meaningful, long-term relationships. Mobility is such an important part of daily life, and many patients with rheumatic diseases struggle with this. I find it especially rewarding to use advances in medicine to help patients feel better, move more comfortably, and get back to the activities they enjoy.
How would you describe your approach to patient care?
I take a holistic, patient-centered approach and really try to understand what matters most to each person. My goal is to partner with patients to create a plan that fits their life and priorities.
Are there specific conditions or areas of rheumatology you're especially passionate about?
I enjoy treating a wide range of rheumatic diseases, with particular interest in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, and osteoporosis.
What should patients expect during their visits with you?
Patients can expect a thorough and thoughtful evaluation, including a detailed history, review of relevant medical information, physical examination, and a clear, personalized treatment plan. I also make sure there is time to answer questions and discuss next steps together.
What do you enjoy most about working with rheumatology patients?
I really enjoy building relationships with my patients and working together over time. It's especially rewarding to see patients improve and regain function in ways that make a real difference in their everyday lives.
Are there emerging therapies in rheumatology that excite you?
Rheumatology is an exciting field with constant advancements in treatments. I enjoy staying up to date and bringing new therapies to my patients when appropriate so they can benefit from the latest options available.
What makes you excited to join Denver Arthritis Clinic?
I'm excited to join during DAC's 50-year anniversary. It's clear the clinic has built a strong reputation for compassionate, patient-centered care over the decades, and I'm looking forward to being part of that tradition.
What do you enjoy outside of medicine?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding, and snowshoeing, as well as traveling, cooking, exploring coffee shops and farmers markets, and spending time with my partner and our goldendoodle.
